As the continuation of the war was a surprize attack, the [[Republic of Russia]] quickly pushed to the Urals in the east while in the west they recaptured Syktyvkar and pushed vack the [[RSFSR]] to the uninhabited wastelands. [[RSFSR]], impressed by how the [[Republic of Russia|Republic]] had managed to outsmart him, decided to make a small counter-offensive on the central front, north of the wastelands and south of the Pechora River. While this counter-offensive was going on the [[Republic of Russia]] continued his advance in the north, eventually meeting up with him a bit east of the river where the front would get stalemated.

[[RSFSR]] was by this point too exhausted after his two years of fighting to pull off any more advances, thus being the first of the two to genuinely want peace. [[Republic of Russia|RR]], however, thought himself capable of one-upping his opponent one more time. For this reason the [[Republic of Russia]] would launch a new offensive through the wasteland, in an attempt to separate [[RSFSR]]'s armies from Kotlas, effectively rendering the whole of the [[RSFSR|Red Army]] encircled. A plan that, though genius on paper, was in practice just a reused version of Operation Turnaround in the year prior. The [[RSFSR]], having forseen this tactic, had preemptively already stationed some troops ready to counter the offensive, and additionally, also encircle it. While the [[Republic of Russia|Republic]] was distracted with this failed offensive, [[Idel-Ural]] would take the opportunity to take back some border territories. After the encirlcement of March 2077, the [[Republic of Russia]] agreed to a ceasefire along the current frontline.

Due to the [[2nd Union War]], the [[RSFSR]] had established itself as a major Russian power, almost on par with the [[Republic of Russia]] and the [[Union of Russia]] in terms of military capabilities. This would subsequently effect the [[Republic of Russia]]'s approach to him considerably, who previosuly hadn't really paid attention to him at all. The [[RSFSR]] would involve itself in another war against the [[Republic of Russia]] in the following decade, (''see the [[3rd Union War|Third Union War]]''), and would also clash with the [[Union of Russia]] during the [[3rd Russian Revolution]].
