Kurdistan was one of the main characters in the Middle East in Alternate Future of Europe: Collapse. A true anarchist and former member of the Collateral Liberty Pact, Kurdistan capitulated to the same alliance in ww3 in 2082. After the Collateral Liberty Pact itself fell in the same war, a democratic rationalist government was installed in its stead, as per American insistance. In response to this the Anarchists of Iraq would maintain their occupation of Kurdistan's south, even after the social democrats were elected to power in Kurdistan's 2088 election.

Iranian Civil War[edit | edit source]

During the Iranian civil war, Kurdistan revolted as anarcho-communist in conjunction with the Union of Iranian and Afghan anarchists, which later became the Anarchists of Iran. Fighting against several other factions, such as the old Islamist government, Azerbaijan, and social democratic republicans, the Iranians offered to team up with Kurdistan and recognize his independence. Kurdistan agreed to the offer and then anarchist rebellions in Rojava and Syria also occurred aligned to the same faction. After they signed peace with Azerbaijan along ethnic Kurdish-Azerbaijani lines, anarchist control over Iran and Kurdistan was secured.

Rise and Expansion of the Collateral Liberty Pact[edit | edit source]

Collateral Liberty Pact and Iraqi Civil War[edit | edit source]

After the victorious wars in the Middle East, Rojava joined Kurdistan, who signed an official alliance with Iran and Syria, the Collateral Liberty Pact. Following this, they would fund and get involved in the Iraqi civil war in 2039, in which despite the Iraqi federal government being backed by the Middle Eastern Bloc, the anarchists made work of him fairly easily. Iran installed an anarcho-syndicalist puppet in Iraq, while Kurdistan annexed his ethnically Kurdish lands, establishing a largely contiguous Kurdish "state".

Invasion of Türkiye and Operation Integral[edit | edit source]

After the Middle Eastern Bloc fell apart in 2054 due to Saudi Arabia getting exposed for trying to instigate a war and Israel getting into an argument with Türkiye following Turkish attempts to call in the alliance over an anarcho-capitalist rebellion in Cyprus, Iran ordered an invasion by the alliance of Türkiye. After some advances thanks to Kurds living in the area rebelling, the front ground to a halt until the Collateral Liberty Pact funded a libertarian environmentalist rebellion that took over the country.

Departure from the Collateral Liberty Pact and alliance with Tripolitania[edit | edit source]

False Anarchism[edit | edit source]

Although relations between Kurdistan and Iran seemed positive, Kurdistan had discovered the truth with Syria and Iran's anarchist uprisings, having began to spy on Iran. He notes in his first conversation with Tripolitania that armed gangs and mafia rose up in most of the collateral liberty pact's members, seizing power and effectively spreading False Anarchism. Kurdistan had not done this, and was actually anarchist, having realized that while he wanted an anarchist utopia, Iran wanted "a world in flames". In exchange for alliance to Tripolitania, Kurdistan agreed to back him in the event of war with the extremists in Cyrenaica.

Operation Backstab[edit | edit source]

After Kurdistan randomly told Iran that he couldn't accuse him of being untrue to anarchy when he was himself a mafia state, Iran grew suspicious of him and began to prepare an operation to backstab him. Meanwhile, when Kurdistan was told to work on Operation Integral, he grew suspicious and discovered that he was being backed by the 5th Reich. This turned out to be just in time, as after the Environmentalists came into power in Türkiye and changed the name to Turquia, him along with the other members of the Collateral Liberty Pact declared war on Kurdistan, only for Kurdistan to reveal that he knew all of Iran's classified information and threatening to leak all of it out on the internet, forcing the Collateral Liberty Pact to back down.

Deobandi Authority invasion of Tripolitania and later Libyan Reunification[edit | edit source]

Following Imperial Algiers seizing power in Algeria, the North African members of the Deobandi Authority declared war on Tripolitania, sparking Egyptian intervention. Although Cyrenaica made advances in the Sahara, neither him nor Algiers could push into his population centers due to Kurdistan's support for Tripolitania, while Cyrenaica had to agree to peace to prevent Egypt from mowing him down. Later, during the war between Egypt and the Deobandi Authority - now the Islamic Authority, anarchists gained too much power in Cyrenaica, and even with Algerian garrisons, Cyrenaica fell apart and allowed Tripolitania to peacefully annex him, resulting in Libyan reunification.

Involvement in World War 3 and demise[edit | edit source]

British discovery and attack[edit | edit source]

After a conversation with the URA in 2064 where the URA noted that he saw Tripolitania being aided by an anarchist, the British Empire started spying on Tripolitania's communication lines, eventually catching Kurdistan and Tripolitania talking right before WW3 when Kurdistan was discussing the problems posed by the Collateral Liberty Pact and the neo-Nazis that had risen to power in Turquia. Britain demanded to know who was behind anarchism, and after a brief push into Kurdistan in which Kurdistan insisted he couldn't give the info or he'd be killed, Libya convinced Britain to protect Kurdistan in exchange for the classified information, where Kurdistan revealed that the Fifth Reich was the one behind anarchy, drawing himself, Libya, and the Anglosphere into the recently started WW3.

Capitulation[edit | edit source]

Although the Middle Eastern front initially started very poorly for the Collateral Liberty Pact, the Fifth Reich adding 2 new fronts in Morocco and Hindustan allowed them to temporarily turn the war around. Kurdistan has his country occupied and surrenders after thanking Libya "for the company".

Personality[edit | edit source]

In spite of his ideological radicality, Kurdistan was very kind and more so cared about protecting himself and the ones he cared about rather than his ideology. He saved Tripolitania during the war between him and Cyrenaica. He was also paranoid and worried about being invaded, probably due to his oppression pre-independence.
