On the 10th of September, 2090, Portugal managed to convince the [[United Rationales of America]] to greenlight Anglosphere intervention in the civil war in order to stp the [[Fifth Reich of Deutschland (AFOE: Collapse)|German]]-backed rebels from taking over. Portugese forces entered into Galicia but were forced to halt their offensive as the Spaniards of Despair invaded from the east. American forces previously fighting in [[Italy]] were now sent to invade the Balearic Islands and use it as a launching ground for an amphibious invasion of Murcia, which was very successfull. During these campaigns, Andalusia and the Spanish Assembly continued slowly advancing in from the south while the Spaniards of Despair pushed Basque back to the Pyrenees and laid Madrid under siege.
