=== Counter-Offensives === ==== Reorganization ==== As Leviathan formed Infernal Iberia, he immediately revamped the country's military doctrines, strategies, weaponry, logistics and deployment, etc, and replaced a lot of the generals. He also put his armies in defensive positions on most fronts and redoployed all of the mechanized units, tanks, artillery and drones to the north. Infernal Iberia then launched a counter-offensive against the Spaniards of Despair, aiming to kick them out of the war to minimize the number of fronts needed to fight on. This campaign became the most bloody one of the war by far, featuring numerous war crimes and autrocities from both sides. ==== Northern Campaign ==== He began with sending out one spearhead from Madrid and one from Plasencia, which met up at as they captured the city of Salamanca, subsequently encircling a third of the army of the Spaniards of Despair and killing them all, taking no POWs. The Spaniards of Despair would quickly send reinforcements from other fronts, enabling Portugal and later also Basque to resume their respecitve offensives. Infernal Iberia then continued his new found initiative and pushed to the Douro River, breaching it in the west while sending out one army corps east. This corps captured the city of Aranda de Duero in order to ruin the supply routes for a potential counter-offensive. The city was burned to the ground, leaving no survivors. After this, the Spaniards of Despair, despite losing on almost every front, made a desparate attempt to march on Madrid once more. This attempt failed as they only managed to ecapture the city of Guadalajara, which they burned and genocided as vengance. ==== Fall of the Annihilists ==== In the unusually humid winter of 2091 the Spaniards of Despair tried to make a last stand at their capital of Léon, however their forces arrived too late and the battle was over before it even began. Infernal Iberia and Portugal reached the northern coast not long after and after having encirled a few divisions in Galicia, the Portugese would occuy the region. Despite Portugal officially being at war with Infernal Iberia, only minor border clashes would take place over the course of the war, presumably because Portugal feared meeting a similar fate as the Spaniards of Despair, had he tried. After the fall of Léon the last remaining forces of the annihilists retreated the the city of Burgos, which had briefly been the capital of Francoist Spain during the first Spanish Civil War. With the state of their army however, they got brutally defeated by Infernal Iberia, who burned the city, killing up to 60 % of its inhabitants. After this, the Spaniards of Despair surrendered and Basque declared peace. ==== Eastern Offensive ==== After two months of preparations, Infernal Iberia now turned his armies east, aiming to capitulate the Spanish Assembly and become the sole remaining Spanish government. This offensive, beginning on the 13th of March, 2092, went really well, with hefty advances both in the north and in the south. Multiple anarchist divisions got encircled in the small city of Calatayud and a spearhead reached Albacete which cut off the anarchist forces in the south who therefore surrendered. At the samte time as this was happening, Infernal Iberia also began an offensive against Andalusia, pulling off a small encirclement in Huelva and making it over the Guadalquivir River, quickly capturing the cities of Jaén, Linares and parts of Córdoba. This caused Andalusia to join the Anglosphere for protection. As the Spanish Assembly's capital Valencia came under threat from Infernal Iberia, from both the north and the south, the Spanish Assembly chose to take the easy way out and surrender, on the second of June, 2092.
